I love the scene in the movie Bull Durham when Crash Davis gets the boys a much needed rain out by turning on the sprinkler system at the ball field late the night before the game.

Ma Nature handed me a much needed break from the oars this Friday and Saturday...I generally never scrub trips except for ground lightening and a death in the family. The next two dudes in the hopper both had some pressing schedule issues and it did not take much convincing for me to issue weather checks and reschedules for July.

I’m taking a week or so off the guide roster. Time to heal up the esox-cut hands, clean up the boat and tow rig, sort out my tackle kit, tie flies, edit photos, get caught up on emails, start hustling summer and early fall bookings and whatnot…then I’ll need a break from productive stuff and will be ready to hit the water with a vengeance again when those flow charts start to drop back into the safe to float range again!
